Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: October 2025
The short version: some links on StarterMotors earn us a small commission if you buy something. It never costs you extra, and it never changes what we recommend.

How StarterMotors makes money

StarterMotors is free to use. To keep it that way, we use affiliate partnerships — when you click certain links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission from the company you buy from. The price you pay is identical whether you came from our site or went directly.

Which links are affiliate links?

Currently, we have or are applying to affiliate partnerships with:

These are clearly our sponsors and partners. We do not insert affiliate links into editorial content without disclosure.

Does this affect our recommendations?

No. Our guide content is written independently. We recommend HPI checks because every used car buyer genuinely needs one — not because we earn commission on them. We recommend comparing insurance on Quotezone because it's a legitimate and well-known UK comparison site — not because of the affiliate arrangement.

We would never recommend a product we don't believe is genuinely useful to first-time buyers. If we think something is poor value or not right for our audience, we say so — regardless of whether there's an affiliate deal involved.

Listings

Car listings on our marketplace are submitted by private sellers and dealers. We do not take commission on car sales. Listing on StarterMotors is currently free.

Advertising

StarterMotors does not currently run display advertising. If this changes, we will update this page.
